Socialism in the 21st CENTURY

The Fox Propaganda Network and Trump are reviving the RED SCARE tactics of Mussolini and Hitler. In Germany, Hitler repeatedly told the people, only the Nazi Party can stop the Communists from taking over Germany. We saw how that scare tactic turned out.

In 2026 America, the Fox Propaganda Network and Trump are trying to portray the Democratic Party as the party of Communists. People who live in the real world, know there are no communists in the Democratic Party. That is pure Trump and Fox Propaganda and Lies.

Trump and Fox are repeatedly claiming Socialism is evil and leads to Communism. The Fox Propaganda Network always uses Cuba and Venezuela as proof that Socialism fails and always leads to communism. Those two countries failed because they are third world countries and they were taken over by dictators. They did not fail because of Socialism.

Intelligent people realize that’s a bogus, illogical argument. Fox always portrays Socialism as defined by Karl Marx and others over 175 years ago. Here is what they essentially claim is the definition of Socialism.

The Fox Propaganda Network Definition of Socialism

Socialism is an economic and political system in which the means of production, such as factories, land, and resources, are owned, regulated, or controlled by the state (government), rather than by private individuals or companies. In other words, the Fox definition of Socialism means the entire country is taken over by the government. That was true in the 1850s, but Socialism has evolved significantly over the past 175 years. In the year 2026, it has changed significantly in many European countries and America.

Here is the modern, 21st Century definition of Socialism.

  • There is NO Private Capital invested in the program.
  • There is No Profit Motive.
  • The program is 100% owned and operated by the Government.
  • The program is 100% funded by mandatory taxes on ALL citizens. In other words, every citizen must participate in the program by paying taxes.
  • The sole purpose of the program is not taking control of the country, it is to provide benefits to their citizens.

Before I provide examples of Socialism in the 21st Century, I want to point out some of the European countries which are excellent examples of modern Socialism. They aren’t the only countries in Europe that promote Socialism, but they are primarily known for their Socialist programs, such as Universal Health Care and Universal Pension Systems. That would be Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway. Please note that all these countries have employed Socialism for many decades and they are all Democracies. Contrary to Trump and Fox Propaganda, none of them show any signs of becoming communist countries.

America has also had large, major Socialist programs operating for decades alongside our capitalist system. There are three major Socialist Programs in our country. Two of them are 100% owned and operated by the federal government, and the third major program is owned and operated by state and local governments. What are they?

The two large federal Socialist programs, which have been around for many decades, are SOCIAL SECURITY and MEDICARE. Both of them meet all the elements of Socialism, per our definition above. Does anyone with a brain believe Social Security and Medicare are evil and/or will lead to communism in America?

The third major Socialist program in America is the Public School System. American parents do not have to spend thousands of dollars in tuition to send their children to private schools. They can send their children to free public schools, provided by, and operated 100%, by the government. Of course, they help pay for these schools through mandatory school taxes. However, those school taxes are chump change when compared to the thousands of dollars private schools charge in tuition for each child.

NOTE: Social Welfare programs are not Socialism. Some examples of this are Food Stamps and Homeless Shelters. Socialism is when the government mandates that all citizens must participate via mandatory taxes, as in Social Security, Medicare, and School Taxes.
